Maio

This was definitely the most peaceful island I've been to. They say that nothing ever happens on this island, and I'm not going to disagree with that.

São Tiago

Compared to Maio, this island has a completely different landscape. As the photos also show, the entire island is one big bunch of mountains. The hillsides all the way from the southern capital of Praia to the northern Tarrafal provide some dramatic sights.

São Vicente

There's one place here that trumps all of São Tiago's scenery, and that's the view from the top of Monte Verde. It's almost in the middle of the island and most of the land around it is relatively flat so you can see quite a lot. The biggest city here is Mindelo, a very clean and, uh, pastel colored city.
